Kissing Cousins

When you have a group of friends that are so close to family, you consider them cousins, but when you were little you may have had kissing incidents in the closet. You call a reunion the kissing cousins reunion.

This group is four family’s, now with three generations each. And over the years the relationships that stemmed from our parents have continued to grow. This group of people loves each individual where they are at. There is no judgement, each person gets to come as they are. It is truly beautiful to see the families and relationships that this group of people has.

We just concluded our second reunion. A weekend dedicated to spending time together. With dinners, hiking, golf, bowling, lots of corn hole and a beautiful brunch to say good bye. And at the end of it all I feel very blessed to be part of this group. Because friends are the family we choose for ourselves!

Mama Love

Spent time shopping for two mothers who mean the world to our family. Thinking of gifts they will enjoy makes me happy. And being able to celebrate and spend time with them both on Mother’s Day will be wonderful.

A Little PR

A day of work, that was a little different than normal was just what I needed. I spent the day working on promoting Heirlooms and Charmed. From tv to radio, it was a fun productive day. I love when I have the opportunity to share with others what wonderful stores Heirlooms and Charmed are.

$10 Dinner

While doing our Sunday grocery shopping we picked up a meatloaf that was ready to bake.

I have to interrupt here and say, getting a preseasoned meatloaf was strange to me because Ryan makes the best meatloaf ever. But weeknight dinners need to be a little bit faster since we both work full time.

So we bought the meatloaf. And we baked it tonight. Made some rice and cut an avacado in half. Such an easy dinner and the meatloaf was actually pretty tasty. And I also realized the whole meal was less than $10.

Amazing how having an easy meal can make the night more enjoyable.

Photo Text

Today’s joy came from a photo text. My sweet baby looking way too cute and way to old, smiling with her beautiful Nana. Seriously made my heart melt. And I wonder when did she learn to smile for the camera?

Sunday

Today was spent getting ready for the week. Ryan cleaned cars and mowed the yard. I organized, picked up and cleaned the house. After lunch Reagan went down for a nap. I still had things to do. But instead Ryan and I also went to bed to nap. We dosed on and off for a couple of hours on this rainy Sunday. And it felt so good to relax for a bit.

Finding Grace

I woke up this morning and realized I forgot to blog last night. I had all intentions of blogging and then got caught up doing a project for my mom. And when I finished the project I totally spaced my time to myself. Instead I went straight to bed.

My first thought when I realized I had forgotten was, write something and put it up now. But that would have added stress to my morning and the blog isn’t supposed to cause stress. It is a time to reflect. So I just let it go.

So my joy tonight is two fold. Last night I didn’t write because I fell fast asleep as soon as I finished my mom’s project. Sleep was apparently what I needed and giving yourself what you need is important. And today I could have made myself feel badly because I forgot to write. But what’s the point in beating myself up? So my Joy comes in the form of self love as I give myself grace.
